Consul General Pan Xinchun Meets the Two Deputy Presiding Officers of the Scottish Parliament

Chinese Consul General Pan Xinchun met the two deputy Presiding Officers Linda Fabiani and Christine Grahame at the Scottish Parliament on 28 March. They had an in-depth exchange of views on relationship between China and Scotland.

 

Consul General Pan said, this year marks the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations at the ambassadorial level between China and the UK as well as the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Chinese Consulate General in Edinburgh. Ties between China and the UK as well as Scotland have developed rapidly with great achievements since then. Lots of progress are made in the fields of high-level exchanges, trade and investment, education, culture, tourism, etc.. At the same time, China has maintained close relationship with the Scottish Parliament, while the Cross Party Group on China at the Scottish Parliament plays an active role in promoting friendly cooperation between China and Scotland. Chinese side looks forward to enhancing understanding and strengthening cooperation with the Scottish Parliament so as to foster our good relationship.

Both the two deputy Presiding Officers spoke highly of the fruitful cooperation between the two sides and attached importance to developing relationship with China, willing to work with Chinese side to strengthen parliamentary exchanges and cooperation and continue to play a positive role in deepening China-Scottish cooperation in various fields.
