Smart Shenzhen Innovation Enterprises Promotion Seminar 2018 Held in Edinburgh

On 13 July, Mr. Pan Xinchun, Chinese Consul General in Edinburgh, Rt Hon Frank Ross, Lord Provost of the City of Edinburgh, Mr. Su Xijin, Vice Chairman of Standing Committee of People' s Congress in Bao'an District attended the celebrations and ceremony for creative competition award in Edinburgh. The event was also attended by more than 100 people including Shenzhen delegation and representatives from creative business sector.   

Consul General Pan noted that Shenzhen-Edinburgh exchanges and cooperation have entered a period of fast development since the establishment of Edinburgh-Shenzhen Creative Exchange, seeing flourishing exchanges and fruitful cooperation in various areas. Shenzhen is a young city full of vitality and innovative spirit while innovation industry in Edinburgh is well-developed. He believed the seminar will usher in a broad prospect for deepening cooperation between the two cities.  

Chairman Su said that the MOU on Cooperation between Shenzhen and Edinburgh was signed in 2013, which laid a solid foundation for practical cooperation. To date, steady progress has been achieved in collaborations in fields including innovation industry, life sciences and education. There will be 12 Shenzhen enterprises and 20 Edinburgh enterprises seeking development in each other's city. Lord Provost Frank Ross commended the new outcomes delivered by collaborations between the two sides and congratulated winners of the competition. He encouraged more of them to start business in Edinburgh. Lord Provost reassured enterprises of both sides that the City Council will work with the Creative Exchange to further support their development, making a new example of win-win cooperation between global cities.
