Consul General Pan Xinchun Attends the Launch of RIC

On May 17th , the plaque unveiling ceremony to launch the joint research and innovation centre (RIC)by the University of Glasgow (UOG) and the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC) was held at the UOG. Chinese Consul General Pan Xinchun, Prof Sir Anto Muscatelli, Principal of the UOG and the delegation from both universities attended the event.

Consul General offered his warmest congratulations on the opening of RIC which sets a fine example for Sino-Scottish educational cooperation. He hoped that the partnership of both sides continues to grow from strength to strength and encouraged more Scottish students to study in China.

Prof Sir Anto Muscatelli thanked Consul General for his strong support of the collaborations and exchanges between the UOG and its counterparts in China. He said that the establishment of RIC reflects the successful engagement between the two universities over the past six years. Both sides will take advantage of the platform to launch a dual PhD programme on Information and more joint research programmes so as to deliver more comprehensive cooperation and achieve more fruitful results.
