Virtual Celebration of 71st National Day of the PRC
Online celebrations of the 71st anniversary of the People's Republic of China organized by the Consulate General of the PRC in Edinburgh was a huge success. About 100 members of Chinese community joined the celebration.
In his address, Consul General Ma Qiang felicitated all Chinese people in Scotland on the National Day and the Mid-Autumn Festival, praying for the peace, prosperity and progress of the country.
Speaking about the fight against the ongoing pandemic, Consul General said that China's resounding success is the result of tenacious leadership from Chinese Communist Party to mobilize people and coordinate efforts to fend off the disease. He commended the Chinese community for their important role in combating coronavirus. The safety and wellbeing of all overseas Chinese is the top priority of the Chinese government. Therefore, Consul General and his team will continue to do whatever they can to fulfill this end.
Attendees thanked for Mr. Ma's kind words, from which they felt a tremendous amount of pride and encouragement. They are committed to contributing to the engagements between China and Scotland as well as to the great rejuvenation of China.
The event culminated with rendition of Peace be with You by the Edinburgh Chinese Choir.
