Starting from 29 April 2023 (UK time), travellers who take international flights to China can take antigen self-tests other than nucleic acid tests within 48 hours before boarding. Airlines will no longer check pre-departure testing results. In order to help travellers to prepare for their departure, the Chinese Embassy and Consulates General in the UK have updated the Guide on Epidemic Prevention and Control for China-bound Travellers as follows. Please read carefully and follow the guide so as to ensure a smooth journey.

Ⅰ.Pre-boarding Test

Travellers are required to take antigen self-tests or nucleic acid tests for COVID-19 within 48 hours prior to boarding and can only travel to China when the test result is negative or after it turns from positive to negative.

Ⅱ.Health Declaration to China Customs

Travellers are required to declare the negative test result to China Customs by filling the Health Declaration Form on the Wechat mini-programme of China Customs (scan the QR code below), or via the China Customs APP or at https://htdecl.chinaport.gov.cn.

Ⅲ. Airlines will no longer check pre-departure results of antigen or nucleic acid tests.

Ⅳ. Self-protection on Aircraft

Travellers are requested to comply with the epidemic prevention requirements of airlines and suggested to take good personal protection throughout the flight to reduce the risk of infection.

Travellers need to completecustoms procedures with their health declarationcode. Those with normal health declaration and pass routine health inspection will be allowed entry into China. The Customs will conduct sampling of health declarations proportionally. Those with anomalies in health declaration or showing symptoms such as fever need to cooperate with the Customs for epidemiological investigation, medical investigation, etc, and be tested for related infectious diseases.

Ⅵ. After-entry Epidemic Prevention and Control

After entry into China, travellers are required to strictly abide by the epidemic protocols of the place where they stay.
